Minister of tourism of Cuba’s Juan Carlos Garcia in the national television confirmed the readiness of the Core of the Freedom to make foreign tourists. The official also added that the first foreign tourists after a long break may be the Russians.

“In 2019, the number of Russian tourists visiting our country, growing faster than the others. Today we are receiving requests to begin flying to Cuba from the second half of August. We are still talking about weekly Charter flights to airports in Cayo Coco and Cayo Santa Maria”, – said the Minister.

Thus, the Russian tourists may become the first foreign visitors to the Island of Freedom after local authorities announced the resumption on the first of July international tourism.

“According to our estimates, the recovery of tourism to the level of 2019 will be possible only next year. We discovered Cuba, but tourism is not restored in one day, and this step, first of all, was a necessary signal that the situation in Cuba allows you to safely receive guests”, – said the head minture.
