the Famous American actor Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson have become honorary citizens of Greece, reported with reference to the Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis Kyriakos of NBC.
“Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks is now a proud Greek citizens!”, – signed by the Prime Minister in Instagram a photograph in which he and his wife Chenopodiaceae Grabowski stand along with Hanks and Wilson holding a Greek passport.
Hanks joined the Orthodox Church in 1988 after marrying Wilson, who is of Greek origin. The couple owns property on the island of Antiparos and made a few films about the Greek community, including “My big fat Greek wedding” and “Mamma MIA!” and both sequels of the movie.
“Greece – the shelter, said Hanks to reporters at the ceremony of awarding the prize “Golden globe 2020″. – I visited the most beautiful places in the world, none of them surpasses this country”.
In January, Hanks announced on social networks that it “starts the year 2020 as an honorary citizen of Greece” after the signing of the Greek President Prokopis pavlopoulos of the decree of naturalization.
According to the Greek law, the honorary naturalization is awarded to “a foreign citizen, who offered Greece special service, or if his naturalization may serve the country’s interests”.
