Prices on toilet paper and paper towels could rise in price by 10-15% in the next three weeks. Manufacturers lack raw materials. The reason was the decision of Rospotrebnadzor to suspend the separate collection of waste due to the threat of coronavirus.

The Deputy of the state Duma Yury Volkov wrote the CPS a letter in which he said that sanitary products — toilet paper and towels will rise by 10-15%, and cheap toilet paper — completely disappear from the shelves, the newspaper “Izvestia”.

Rospotrebnazdor previously developed recommendations on the suspension of separate collection due to the fact that workers can become infected with coronavirus. “Not determined the validity of the recommendations, as they are not given for the period of self-isolation, connected only with the possibility of infection from a new virus COVID-19” — going through the Deputy.

According to the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on waste management and secondary resources “Business Russia” Natalia Belyaeva, production is already beginning to buy raw materials at higher prices or switch to the use of primary raw materials (trees — approx.ed.).

From 16 to 19 March, as reported by RT, the researchers found that the demand for toilet paper from the Russians grew by 47% compared to the same period of 2019.
