the Total revenues of the largest Russian consulting groups and companies participating in the ranking, RAEX at the end of 2019 was 98.4 billion, an increase for the year for comparable data on a 2 percent amid a three-percent inflation this is equivalent to drop. The results of previous years was much more optimistic: in 2017 the revenues of consultants in the ranking of the added 10 percent (with inflation at 2.5 percent), for 2018 is 17 percent (4.3 percent).

However, even this is only nominally positive growth is associated with the achievements of relatively small players. While leading dozens (and in the top 10 accounted for 70 percent of the total revenue of the list) averaged dynamics of income was negative – minus 1 percent for the year. It can be expected that negative trends in this market will grow, because, as the experience of past crises, the cost of any kind of consulting go under the knife one of the first.

Most capacious segment of the market has long advocated it consulting. In 2019, the participants here have earned 40.3 billion rubles, or 58.8% of total revenue (hereinafter the structure of consulting is given without the “big four”). Most of the revenue, to 29.3 billion rubles, brought in consulting projects within development and system integration and a further 11.4 billion rubles – management consulting services.

the Most solid customer – government and state-owned companies. “The number of orders growing, the infrastructure for collecting, processing and analyzing data. Large Telecom, financial and state organizations in 2019 not only introduced advanced solutions at home but also sold them to other market participants”, – says Evgeniy Efimenko, General Director of the company “FORS-development Center” (GK FORCE).

Demand for services is observed in the current period. “At the beginning of isolation was apparent surge in demand when the entire country had to move quickly in remote mode. The largest growth occurred in solutions for online communications, electronic document management systems, information security, computing power for big data,” – says Philippe gens, President of LANIT group.

the Second revenue segment consultations on the results of the 2019 financial management, which had 15.2 percent, or 10.5 billion rubles. Drivers are services related to financial accounting and its methodology, IFRS, and the need for cost savings and creates demand for outsourcing accounting functions.

there is a Growing interest in non-financial reporting, sustainable development reports and, of course, to the risk assessments. “The relevance of these trends will continue regardless of external factors because it is based on changingXia thinking and a new approach to doing business. The same applies to the direction of outsourcing business processes, the demand for which on the background of the quarantine restrictions in a natural way increased,” – says Sergey Shapiguzov, President of FBK Grant Thornton. Quarantine triggered a stronger demand for evaluation of the effectiveness of internal financial services and accounting. “Customers are asking us to calculate the possibilities of optimisation of work time for their Finance departments. For the period of forced reduction of business activity of the company focused on improving internal procedures, bringing them into full compliance with the requirements of the legislation”, – says Alexander Needed a partner to SCHNEIDER GROUP.

Legal services and tax consulting total earned rakning of 5.8 billion rubles (8.4% of total revenue by rating) – at 3.7 and 2.1 billion, respectively. “Last year in the first quarter of 2020, a demand for comprehensive due diligence – financial, tax and legal support of transactions of mergers and acquisitions, advising on taxation and transfer pricing. Further, according to our estimates, the activity of M&A shift toward the sale of non-core assets and a “selection” of assets from the market, as well as in the direction of taxation – BEPS, change of agreements on avoidance of taxation with Cyprus, Malta, Luxembourg” – shares the opinion of Rostislav haired women, managing partner of ALTHAUS.

I’ll make a contribution and the measures of the state support of business where the budget is, there is a strict attitude toward accountability. “All new normative acts, directly related to the pandemic, requires careful study and attention to the nuances. A lot of them, they are very voluminous, and often reading unprepared specialist can lead to errors and future problems,” explains Clara Valentin Vorobyov, head of practice of tax consulting, PKF MEF. A similar opinion and Nikita Filippov, head of the Bureau of advocates “De jure”: “Organizations need current information on anti-crisis measures, exemptions, deferrals and relief for businesses in a visual, simplified format. For example, in the form of a table indicating the conditions for their application, which we regularly updated in accordance with innovations in the legislation. If the organization will be promptly advised of the possibility of the use of deferral or installment plan for tax payment, you will be able to adjust the plan for the near future and the amount of deferred taxes or to spend on other mandatory payments, or save on the current account for incidental expenses.”

the evaluation services of the largest consulting companies earned last year no less than 3.8 billion (5.6 percent oft volume ranking). In the current situation in this sector of the market the company is associated in particular with requests from the financial institutions. “As a rule, the crisis is a redistribution of players in various sectors, which will increase the volume of transactions that require different expertise. That is, instead of evaluating for business development more popular will be the score associated with distressed assets. It is also clear that actively will continue to develop automation and computerization in all areas of evaluation” – shares the opinion of Fedor Spiridonov, managing partner of the Group of companies SRG.
