As reported in the Russian Centre of reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria (TSPVS), the incident occurred during a joint patrol of Russian and Turkish soldiers. The explosion also affected the Turkish military.
All the victims were quickly evacuated from the scene of an emergency. The Russians were taken to the military base Hamim. There they were medical assistance, threats to their life there.
