And rightly so, because women have combat and resistant.

And it all started with literature. In the sixth grade Galina read the book “Life-eternal rise of the” about test pilot Marina Popovich and “Road to space” Yuri Gagarin.

– These works and have determined my future. I realized that I wanted to become a military pilot, – says Galina. – Beginning to study the subject, learned about three great women pilots: Marina Popovich, Valentina Grizodubova and Galina Brok-Beļcova. Eventually he met with them, caught every word, and asked advice. In short, he studied them. Now the only survivor Galina Pavlovna, which in January celebrated 94 years. Her credo: “People need to be better than yesterday.” She always follows that rule, and we, her students, are trying to match.

But first acquaintance, though, and correspondence took place with Marina Lavrentieva Popovich. 19-year-old Galina wrote the legendary aviatrix of the letter in which told about the dream.

– In response to a telegram came: “Dear girl, take pride in your successes. I hope we will continue to storm the heavens and reach greater heights of achievements. Hugs, Marina Popovich”, – says Galina Pavlovna. Her words inspire me.

After graduation, Galina enrolled at the Ufa aviation Institute (currently Ufa state aviation technical University) on faculty of Aviation engines, where he taught mechanical engineers.

This meeting was a tough turn in her life. He received the diploma of the Institute, the girl arrived in vovchans’ke aviation school, which he successfully graduated in 1989. He came back to Ufa, got a job flying a teacher in the Chelyabinsk higher aviation school of pilots. Here with his students mastered helicopters new modifications. And in the winter of 1992 Galina from the air force came the offer to participate as the second pilot in the women’s international flight Moscow-Miami, dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus and the 50th anniversary of lend-lease. For the first time in the history of aviation of the Soviet bertolaccini on the transport-combat helicopter Mi-24V was to perform long-distance flights with a length of 25 thousand kilometers.

Immediately the question arose: “Why me?” recalls Skrobova-cat’s. – There are many worthy and experienced women pilots. I think we should say “thank you” to Marina Popovich, who at the time introduced me to Galina Rastorguyeva, the commander of this flight. The responsibility was huge. Tasks before the crew was ambitious: to make successful flights, represent the Motherland at the international level and to strengthen relations between our country and America.

As of September 1, 1992 from the Moscow Tushino airfield flew the helicopter Mi-24V.

2 September was the busiest day, – says Galina. We flew 9 hours without stops. It was hard. Although this is better than to be in bad weather. For example, in the village chaibukha Magadan region because of the fog visibility was practically zero. We had to go back to the airfield and wait until it clears.

Another challenge was the flight from Alaska to anchorage. The carriage flew American flight to Soviet helicopter accidentally flew into a U.S. military base.

– He accompanied everywhere. Even when were in the area of high mountains and had to fly to each other carefully as the thread with the needle not to crash into some rock – says Skrobova-cat’s. The Americans then admired the courage of Russian women.

Galina Petrovna recognized that now would go anywhere in the world, if again invited to make such flights.

– Our commander Rastorguyeva at that time was 58 years old like me now. So age in this case is not a hindrance. And to see the land from a bird’s flight is happiness. He who has once been in the sky, will always seek back again and again.
