The United States will put Russia mice for testing

The United States will put Russia humanized model mice containing human immune cells, for preclinical testing of vaccines against coronavirus, said the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) Alexander Sergeyev TV channel “Russia-24”.

“We now exchanged emails and expect that these mice will come to Russia and we will have a full model for preclinical trials (vaccine against coronavirus – approx. OPINION)”, – quotes its words “Interfax”.

Sergeev noted, scientists in the United States by genetic engineering derived humanized model mice containing human immune cells, it contributes to receptor sites on the cells of the lungs.

“And it is an excellent model to test drugs and develop a vaccine,” – said the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Sergeev added that the Russian Academy of Sciences and Academy of Sciences of the United States in the coming days will sign a Protocol of cooperation for fighting the coronavirus.

“In the U.S. many representatives of our Diaspora, and among the Americans a lot of foreign members of the Russian Academy of Sciences. They really want to cooperate with us in this period,” he said.
