Senior economic adviser to US President Kevin Hassett admitted that unemployment in the country may affect a fifth of the population. He told this in an interview with CNN.

Hassett warned that by June, the unemployment rate of Americans could rise to 16-20 percent. He stated that economic indicators in the country in the period from may to July will be “the same bad as anything we’ve ever seen.”

This level of unemployment is in danger of becoming the highest since the great depression, emphasizes the publication. According to estimates by the Bureau of labor statistics of the United States, in 1933, it reached 25 per cent in the country.
