In the period of the pandemic Moscow’s economy has shown resilience to severe stress. This statement was made by Deputy Mayor in Moscow Government on economic policy and property and land relations Vladimir Yefimov. He also mentioned the turnover in trade and services in recent months.

In may 2020, the increase in the average daily turnover for the previous month was 10.3 percent and 7.8 percent by may of last year.

“Signal positive changes in the economy of the city was the recovery of the most affected by the restrictive measures of the industries. Their average daily turnover for the week 1-7 June increased by 14.3 percent in the previous week (may 25-31),” — said the Deputy Mayor.

In the first week of June there was a revival of demand. Turnover in trade and services grew by 3.2 percent in the week from 25 to 31 may. Compared to the same period last year the average daily turnover increased by 20.1 percent.

Retail week 1 to 7 June in terms of “average daily turnover” gained 16.7 per cent compared to the previous week. Wholesale trade over the same period increased average daily turnover on the third.

the Share of small and medium enterprises in the total turnover increased by 2.1 percentage points and amounted to 18.8%.
