MOSCOW, April 17 – RIA Novosti. The state Duma at plenary session on Friday adopted a law allowing to apply for obtaining Russian citizenship without renunciation of foreign.

the Bill also proposed when applying for citizenship of the Russian Federation eliminate the requirement to a three-year period of stay in Russia and the proof of legitimate source of livelihood for adult persons without citizenship, having citizenship of the USSR, lived and live in member countries of the former USSR, but have not received citizenship of these States.

in addition, a similar rule is proposed to extend to foreigners married to a Russian citizen who lives in Russia, and having in this marriage children of foreigners, one of whose parents has Russian citizenship and lives in Russia.

According to the initiative, citizens of Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan also will simplify applying for Russian citizenship: they will be able to apply for citizenship of the Russian Federation without observance of the period of residence in Russia with a valid residence permit.

“Also, the bill proposes to reduce from three years to one year the period of labor activity in the Russian Federation for persons who have graduated from Russian educational and scientific organizations”, – added in the explanatory note.
