The moderators will be the Deputy Secretary General of AACAP, member of the Russian Union of Industrialists and entrepreneurs (RSPP) on intellectual property and the creative industries Irina Yakovleva and editor of the communication holding “InterMedia” Evgenie Safronov.

throughout the world the old business models stopped working, the income streams stopped, said Yevgeny Safronov: “In search of a way composers and performers looked to the digital sphere, which had previously generated a meager income. But it turned out that in the digital world has its own laws, not really taking into account the interests of music makers”.

Therefore, the key topics of discussion will be the promotion of music in the digital environment, the interaction of the authors with digital platforms in countries AACAP (the number of States of the CIS, China and Turkey), the possibilities of international collaboration of authors in the digital environment, the law and practice in the field of copyright in the digital space in Russia, as well as the experiences and initiatives of the EU and the US in this area. Experts will also discuss modern models of music distribution and talk about the pros and cons of monopolization of the market.

as a result of the pandemic severely affected many businesses, especially those that depend on physical interaction with customers. It is not surprising that the brunt of the accepted creative industries: according to preliminary estimates of the Russian Union of Industrialists and entrepreneurs (RSPP), during a pandemic, this segment of the market lost up to 150 billion rubles. Falling incomes in the creative industries has become a global problem and many countries have taken unprecedented measures to support the creative sectors of the economy. For example, at the end of March, Germany has allocated 500 million Euro as grant aid to self-employed artists, artisans, artists and musicians.

In Russia, the state is also taking comprehensive measures to support creative industries: thus, the sphere of culture and organization of leisure and entertainment was included in the list of the most affected by the spread of coronavirus infection. This allows organizations and individual entrepreneurs operating in creative industries, you can count on delays in the payment of taxes and lease payments, preferential loans, grant payments and other concessions. For this purpose the government has already allocated more than 80 billion rubles.

However, a lot of jobs left behind such initiatives. As officially “composer” is not included in the register of professions, the authors, non-state specific organizations have been deprived of their rights to social security. Only in the Union of composers of Russia at the moment is more than a thousand people – almost all of them lost their main source of income because of the ban on public events.

“We first encountered such difficulties, not only material but also moral. Now, the musical figures, especially the young, whose works are little known and not enforced by radio or television, it is very difficult, because even the content which you can create in isolation, it is almost impossible to implement. The salary or fee of the composer to a greater extent dependent on public performance works, and concert halls don’t work, and Occupy are unable fully to collect royalties,” – said General Director of RMS, composer, honoured art worker of the Russian Federation, artistic Director and chief conductor of the Bolshoi concert orchestra im. Yu. V. Silanteva Alexander Klevitsky.

that is why the representatives of the professional community now more than ever it is important to discuss priorities and to find optimal ways of their solution, consider the experience of other countries in this area and to develop a set of measures to support the composers and other authors working in the music industries.

“Such meetings are necessary in order to outline the problems, to identify the most relevant ones, to understand what needs to be done to address them.
