At the polling station No. 8177, which is open in the building of the Consulate General of Russia in Cuba, a vote was held on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation.

“Today at the polling station came more than 100 people. Given the fact that due to quarantine measures public transport in the capital has yet to deliver the Russians to the place we planned 4 bus routes in Havana”, – told correspondent “RG” the General Consul of Russia in Cuba, Vasily Pronin.

the Diplomat also noted that the vote was conducted “within a few days to avoid crowds of people at the polling station and exclude the potential threat of the spread of infection”. The entrance area was carried out alternately in protective masks, while wishing to give his voice the temperature was measured and treated with hand sanitizer.

“in Addition to Havana, we visited 9 cities for early on-site voting, consistent with the Commission the Ministry of foreign Affairs on organization of voting. In fact, managed to go round the whole territory of Cuba. Outside of Havana voted by 172 people. Unfortunately, the turnout was not very large, as in many provinces, despite the transition to the first phase of the lifting of quarantine restrictions, public transportation still do not work”, – said the Russian Consul General, adding that “on demand of disabled people of Russia was held voting at home, thanks to which 17 of our fellow citizens were able to vote from home”.

“Only Cuba voted for amendments to the Constitution more than 500 Russians”, – said Pronin.
