MOSCOW, may 4 – RIA Novosti. Chairman of the Synodal Department of the Moscow Patriarchate on relations of the Church with society and the media, the chief editor of “FOMA” magazine Vladimir Legoyda invited the faithful to pray for the doctors that are saving infected with the coronavirus.

Earlier edition of the Orthodox magazine “FOMA” has published texts of congregational prayers and a list with the names of people who “work directly with patients infected with COVID-19”. The editors invited the faithful to download the list and remember all “who labor now in the health care facilities” in the daily prayers.

“Pray for the doctors! Dear friends,” – wrote in his Telegram-channel Legoyda, reprinting relevant post “THOMAS.”

As explained in the Synodal Department of the Moscow Patriarchate on relations of the Church with society and the media, users can fill up this list, leaving the new names using the feedback form.

“Many of us ask: what can do I personally? To make a donation, become a volunteer — a lot of options, but they are not available to everyone. But pray can each of us” – said Legoyda, whose words are in the message released by the Synod Department on Monday.

He also cautioned against reading prayer replacement for good deeds and mercy, as “faith without works is dead”. “Do not forget that the world is based on Christian prayer and exists only because we constantly turn to God and He answers us,” – said the representative of the Russian Church.

According to the Chairman of the Synod of the Moscow Patriarchate Department for charity Bishop of Orekhovo-Zuevo Panteleimon, who was also given the message that God accepts our service to others as worship.

“Let’s pray about them as Ministers of love and Ministers of God. We will ask that God revealed himself to them in response to their compassion, their love, their selfless sacrificial service to the suffering. It is the highest award! Sing unto the Lord all the doctors and nurses, sisters of mercy, as they used to be called, a hundredfold for all that they gave to the sick: strength, time, health, life,” concluded the Bishop.

Earlier, the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill thanked the volunteers, sponsors and doctors. Doctor, he said, are at the forefront of the fight against disease, “will show true heroism and fidelity to their vocation”.
