The Russian government imposed a moratorium on the initiation of bankruptcy cases

As recalled by RIA Novosti, Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin gave instructions to postpone the payment of taxes and insurance premiums in respect of taxpayers relating to the sectors of tourism and air transport, as well as providing the possibility of imposing a moratorium on filing for bankruptcy.

the Adopted resolution lists the categories of debtors for which a moratorium.

“to establish a moratorium on the initiation of bankruptcy at the request of the creditors with respect to the following debtors: organizations and individual entrepreneurs, code the main activity according to all-Russian classifier of types of economic activities listed under specific sectors of activity most affected by the deteriorating situation in connection with the spread of the new coronavirus infection, a priority to provide targeted support approved by the government Commission on sustained development of the Russian economy”, – stated in the document.

in addition, in the list of debtors in relation to whom a moratorium, the organizations included in the list of the backbone organisations, and also in the list of strategic enterprises and strategic joint-stock companies. The decree comes into force from the day of its official publication and is valid for 6 months.
