Escalation on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan threatens security of the region. About it reports a press-service of the Ministry of foreign Affairs (MFA) of Russia.
Yesterday, as reported by “the Rambler”, the Armenian defense Ministry accused Azerbaijan of shelling its positions with tanks and mortar, and the Ministry of defense of Azerbaijan Armenia of firing their mortars. This morning, Azerbaijani defense Ministry reported the destruction during the night of fighting manpower, motor vehicles, artillery and a strong point of Armenia and the death of one soldier with his hand.
The day the Russian foreign Ministry issued a statement on the situation on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan. It expresses serious concern about its sharp aggravation, and that further escalation of the situation threatens the security of the region and therefore invalid.
Foreign Ministry urges Armenia and Azerbaijan to exercise restraint and adhere strictly to the ceasefire and expressed readiness to provide necessary assistance to stabilize the situation and offered condolences to the families of the victims.
