The Russian border held by the person, approaching to NATO: the Munich statements Zelensky

Ukraine hopes to promote the idea of joint patrolling the Russian border in the Donbass. This statement was made by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky at the Munich security forum. The Ukrainian leader believes that such events are necessary for the preparation of local elections in the region and patrols will be carried out jointly with representatives of the OSCE and the Donetsk and Lugansk republics.

Speaking about the situation in the East of Ukraine, Zelensky said that in the Donbass held more than 200 Ukrainian citizens, and in Russia — more than 100 Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars. He believes that all prisoners and detained persons must be exchanged under the formula “all for all”.

During the meeting Zelensky with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, the Ukrainian head of state thanked for the solidarity of the Alliance with Ukraine, support for the sovereignty and “Euro-Atlantic aspirations of the country.” Zelensky acknowledged that the ongoing reforms in the country “bring Ukraine closer to NATO.” It is noted that during the meeting was raised the issue of granting Ukraine NATO partner with enhanced capabilities.

for his part, Stoltenberg said that he expects additional assistance to Ukraine in international missions, and added that he sees progress in the achievement of peace through the restoration of the “Norman format”.
