Russia’s Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov met with the special representative of the United States for Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad. This was reported on the page of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Facebook.
During the meeting the sides stressed the importance of coordination of approaches on Afghanistan. Special attention was paid to the fight against international terrorism.
In mid-June, Russia, USA and Afghanistan held consultations, writes TASS. The participants welcomed the Afghan government plans to complete soon the process of releasing five thousand supporters of the banned in Russia radical movement “Taliban”.
