The President of Germany spoke on relations with Russia and the United States

the European Union requires improvement of relations with Russia, but not at the expense of other countries in Central Europe.

according to RIA Novosti, about this world community was informed by the President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, speaking at the opening of the 56th Munich security conference.

He stressed that the wishes and better understanding of Brussels from Moscow.

Speaking about relations with the US, which Steinmeier called the closest political partner for the EU, the German President stressed that the American administration led by Donald trump is destroying the idea of an international community, putting in the forefront their national interests.

According to him, America wants to be great at the expense of partners and neighbors.

In the conference, which traditionally takes place at the hotel Bayerischer Hof in the historic heart of the Bavarian capital, attended by over 800 participants, including about 150 heads of States, Prime Ministers and members of government. The Russian delegation is headed by foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

the Munich conference was founded in 1963 as “the meeting of defence Ministers” of countries-members of NATO, the end of the cold war transformed into an international discussion forum for politicians and public figures around the world.
