The new iPad Pro were not much more powerful than the 2018 model year

Apple is ahead of schedule and began shipping the updated line of high-performance iPad Pro, presented on 18 March. The test results was shared by a Reddit user under the nickname Zindexed that the new model has got one of the first.

In the Geekbench program, serving for evaluating the performance of mobile devices – iPad Pro 2020 issue gained 1114 points in single-core mode (1111 vs iPad Pro 2018), 4654 in a multi-core (anti-4604) and 9894 in Metal (vs 9146). It turns out that the CPU A12X Bionic used in the model of two years ago, not too inferior in power level A12Z Bionic to iPad Pro 2020 (at least on paper).

In any case, to judge the performance gains of the new Apple tablet will be possible only after thorough testing. In addition, Geekbench may not give quite the correct value because the benchmark is not yet optimized for the iPad Pro 2020 and operating system iPadOS 13.4, which will be released tomorrow.

iPad Pro 2020 became the first Apple tablet, which received a triple camera technology to scan the surrounding space. 12-megapixel main and a 10-megapixel wide-angle lens complements the lidar – a laser range finder, which scans the surrounding space and, in fact, serves as the “eyes” of the tablet. The sensor helps to capture more precisely the movement of people and positioning virtual objects on the screen.

Introducing the iPad Pro 2020, Apple has assured that its 8-core chip A12Z Bionic “is more powerful than most laptops on Windows”. Together with the tablet was announced a new keyboard cover with trackpad, Magic Keyboard, backlight and adjustable angle.

In the United States for the 11-inch model of the new tablet will ask $799, 12.9-inch – $949. For Magic Keyboard (will be released in early may) will have to pay $299 or $349, depending on the display size.
