The largest airport in Russia will be private

the Airport “Sheremetyevo” will be entirely private: now the government owns less than one-third of the shares in the largest airport of the country.

the Agency has received a request from private shareholders — JSC “Sheremetyevo” holding — on exercise of an option to repurchase the government’s stake of JSC “international airport “Sheremetyevo”, told “Vedomosti” referring to Federal officials.

“Sheremetyevo holding” owns 66,1% of the shares in “Sheremetyevo”, the Federal property management Agency owns 30.46 percent.

“Sheremetyevo holding” belongs to the Cypriot TPS Avia Holding, which through the trust represents the interests of Alexander Ponomarenko, Alexander Skorobogatko and Arkady Rotenberg.

Other shares owned airport “Aeroflot” and JSC “VEB Capital”.

At the end of 2019 became aware of the inclusion of the airport “Sheremetyevo” in the final version of the program of privatization of Federal property for the years 2020-2022.

“Sheremetyevo” ranked eighth among the top 10 European airports. By the end of 2019 passenger traffic through the airport rose 9 percent to 49.9 million passengers. Sheremetyevo is recognized as the best airport in the world according to the global analytical research of the British company Stasher.
