MOSCOW, may 27 — RIA Novosti. the Ministry of labour and social protection has proposed new measures to support Russians in pandemic COVID-19.
“From April 1 to date in Russia was dismissed two million 52 thousand people employed — one million 665 thousand people. The difference amounted to 388 thousand,” said labor Minister Anton Kotkov at the meeting with the President.
He recalled that, for example, in the United States the number of unemployed increased by more than three times — to the level of 14.7%. And in Canada, this figure has increased by more than half to 13%.
“the Substantial growth of unemployment is a global trend. But thanks to the support business and population in Russia at the moment managed to avoid the explosive growth of this indicator. The situation on the labor market in Russia is better than in some developed countries,” the Minister added.
In 85 Russian regions, the number of people infected with coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, exceeded 370 thousand. Of these, more than 142 thousand patients were cured, 3968 died. Everything in the world COVID-19 sick at least 5.4 million people, more than 343 thousand were killed.
According to the latest data, Russia takes the third place in the list of countries most vulnerable to infection, after USA and Brazil.
