Commenting on statements by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, accusing Russia and Syria in attacks on civilians in Idlib, press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov has reminded that activity of terrorists in Idlib continues and noted that the Kremlin remains committed to the Russian-Turkish agreement on Syria which was reached in Sochi.
Peskov stressed that according to this document the Turkish side has pledged to take on the provision of adequate neutralization of terrorist groups, which is concentrated in Idlib, the Syrian TV channel “Russia 24”.
a Kremlin spokesman said that these groups are attacking the Syrian forces, in addition, they carry out aggressive actions against Russian military installations. “This is unacceptable and it goes against the Sochi agreements,” said Peskov.
“about the strikes on Idlib, which the Syrian military carried out, it strikes against terrorists, not civilians”, — he said. Peskov added that these attacks aim “to neutralize terrorists and their violent activities they carry out,” — said the press Secretary of the head of state.
Earlier, Turkish President said that Turkey intends to attack Syrian government troops outside Iglinskiy areas of de-escalation, if they are to conduct offensive operations.
