The official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said that Moscow “noted the unprecedented pressure exerted by certain foreign partners for Belarusian authorities.

“we can clear the attempts of external interference in the Affairs of a sovereign state with the aim to divide society and destabilize the situation,” she said.

Zakharov also noted that the Russian side hopes for early normalization of the situation in Belarus.

“I would Like to stress that Russia is a reliable ally and friend of Belarus and the brotherly Belarusian people. Sure that attempts to divide us will fail”, — said Zakharov.

In turn, the EU gathers 14 August, an extraordinary meeting of the foreign Affairs Council. One of the main issues for discussion were the presidential elections in Belarus. Will be raised about the preparation of sanctions against the country’s leadership.

Representatives of the European Union, especially the countries bordering with Belarus, don’t skimp these days on the assessment of the dramatic events in this country. Called the elections not free and fair, the electoral process is inconsistent with international standards expected of a member state of the OSCE. In response to the harsh actions of the Belarusian security forces are the threat of sanctions. In principle, all this can be considered the most “unprecedented pressure” that is spoken of in the statement of the representative of the Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, and which, according to her, aimed at the split of the Belarusian society and destabilize the situation.

But why in this case Russia can not act as an initiator and guarantor of measures that could be aimed at finding a compromise in the Belarusian society and the stabilization of the situation? Because Moscow considers it possible — indeed, quite successfully cope with this task — to come up with measures to reconcile warring parties in the civil war enveloping the distant Syria, but for some reason not in Union with us Belarus.

In article 2 of the Treaty on the Union state said that Russia and Belarus including the purpose of the “strict observance of fundamental rights and freedoms of man and citizen in accordance with universally recognized principles and norms of international law”, and also intend to work on the “formation of a unified legal system of democratic States”. What is happening now in Belarus, where security forces used sometimes sadistic cruelty to unarmed Protestants, is how close to the ideals of a “unified legal system of a democratic state”?

Meanwhile, from Moscow, there have been almost no formal evaluation of the past elections in Belarus. Do we consider them democratic and ACCrelevant standards of the OSCE, for example? If your assessment gives the EU, we agree with them or not? Except “to give a verbal it failed” is really growing now external pressure on Minsk from the West, do our diplomatic and political Arsenal no other constructive ways to influence the situation in a friendly state with us? This is why the poles and Lithuanians are going to assist the Belarusian authorities and the opposition for a round table for national dialogue? Isn’t it our straight allied and moral duty?

Especially in the course of such a dialogue may manifest itself in the leaders who might come to power in Belarus much faster than we think. And in the interest of the future of our inter-state relations probably shouldn’t let this process take its course. Finally, do we have any “plan B” in case Lukashenko will not be able to cope with the protests, and street demonstrations and flash mobs to join the strikers and factories, against which any special forces just powerless?

Why the EU’s gathering of foreign Ministers for consultation and discussion of action concerning the Union with us of the country, but no hint to employ, for example, the consultation mechanism in the framework of the CSTO? This organization is still alive or already about the same as that of the CIS? Meanwhile, the collective security Treaty says that “in the event of a threat to security, stability, territorial integrity and sovereignty of one or more States” is immediately put into action the mechanism of joint consultations to coordinate their positions, develop and adopt measures to assist these States parties in order to eliminate the threat. Except now there is no threat to the stability in Belarus?

Well, of course, that “hand of Moscow” not found and will not find in the current organization of mass riots. But too bad that the voice of Moscow today not to hear the Belarusian people, which in the current situation, it is possible to start a conversation and knock down its current sufficiently discredited ruler.
