“This issue is not discussed”, — declared in press service Cabinet.

Previously, the Forbes reported citing its sources that the government during the crisis caused by the pandemic coronavirus, went back to discuss the possibility of increasing tax fees with the rich.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin in January, in consultations with parliamentarians during the discussion of his candidacy for the post Prime Minister opposed to a progressive scale of personal income tax. This idea was put forward in a conversation with him deputies from the Communist party.

So, according to the head of the Duma Committee on civil society development Sergei Gavrilov, Mishustin then called such a reform ineffective and irrelevant, explaining that currently in Russia about 20 million people with incomes below the subsistence minimum in the country there is virtually no middle class, “no one to collect the progressive article, and the issue of the rich and super-rich should be solved differently — with greater visibility and more responsibility.”
