Frescoes of the mid-end of XIX century found in the Spasskaya Church in Tyumen, where now is restoration, said the Governor of the Tyumen region Alexander moor.

Thursday SUCK in the region reported that during restoration of the Church discovered the remains of a presumably well-known merchant and philanthropist Andrew Tekucheva.

"Visited the Church of the Saviour, where now is a large-scale restoration. Impressed with the findings that the team made while working. Under the altar in the North aisle found a burial place that local historians are already associated with the family of the Tyumen philanthropist and mayor Andrey Ivanovich Tekucheva, and on the walls of the main temple, discovered frescoes of the mid-late nineteenth century", wrote Moore on his page in Instagram.

According to him, the painting reached today in good condition thanks to the efforts of unknown people, who during the persecution of the Church, literally "hid" it under layers of paper and paint.

"Even in its current form, the paintings impressed me with the complexity and vibrant colors. I am sure that the revival of one of the most beautiful Orthodox churches in Tyumen and architectural monument of Federal importance will be an event for all residents, regardless of their religion" said Moore.

My whole life Tekutiev lived in Tyumen. The philanthropist has done much for the city: we built a stone theater and a hospital, opened a public library. In 1899 he became the mayor of Tyumen, and this position was held until 1911. 21 Jul 1906 was awarded the title of "Honorary citizen of Tyumen city" for his charity.
