By this time also should increase the export of coal from 259 million tons per year on a conservative scenario to 392 million tons according to the optimistic scenario. In 2019, the export made of 193.6 million tons.

the Program was divided into three phases of five years. The first – from 2020 to 2025 – should happen technical re-equipment of industry and the intensification of coal production, which will allow to increase volumes of coal, and reduce the accident rate and traumatism at enterprises. In addition, at this stage should be completed by the creation of infrastructure projects for the coal industry under the investment program of Russian Railways. By 2024, should be completed the works on modernization of BAM and TRANS-Siberian railway, in which capacity in the East will increase from 124,9 million tons to 180 million tons per year.

In many countries, coal generation continues to occupy a leading position in the energy sector. But new objects are introduced around the world unevenly. Almost the entire increase in coal generation in the last ten years have been in Asia. Do not disdain her and South Korea, and even Japan. Moreover, modern coal-fired plants in China, South Korea and India, its environmental parameters are often superior to similar generation facilities in Europe and the United States, and to renounce them in favour of, for example, gas, sometimes simply impractical.

From 2025 to 2030 needs to be completed industry restructuring and the formation of new centers of coal mining at deposits with favorable mining and geological conditions. The creation of new production facilities in Kuzbass is planned in the Rostov region, and also in the far East and Eastern Siberia. At this stage, should be taken off the main system limitations for transportation of coal cargoes on domestic and foreign markets, and also to synchronize the development of rail and port infrastructure to ensure export supply.

At the final stage – from 2030 to 2035 is expected to achieve maximum productivity and finally to put into operation all pilot projects based on technologies of deep processing of coal. In the same period, the coal industry needs to achieve world standards in the field of environmental protection.

“Coal, of course, to the environment the fuel is not harmless from the point of view and its production, and use. Despite this, the demand for such fuel will remain in the regions with intensive industrial production, where energy consumption is growing,” – said the Director of the Department of audit services, Deloitte CIS Alexander Gubarev. It’s mostly Asia-Pacific countries, beginning its recovery after the pandemic. Thus, for Russia, the updating of the plans for the coal industry is relevant and timely, especially given the decline in esports revenues from oil and gas.
