On said the Council of Europe Commissioner for human rights Dunja Mijatovic, the detention of activists who were held in Moscow and Saint-Petersburg June 22, illustrate the intolerance of the Russian authorities to the people, peacefully expressing their views.

Among them is the case of Svetlana Prokopieva (the Pskov journalist who is accused of justification of terrorism), Abdulmumini Hajiyev (editor of the Dagestani newspaper “Chernovik”, accused of financing of terrorism), Yulia Tsvetkova (LGBT activist from Khabarovsk, accused of distributing pornography), Anastasia Shevchenko (activist of the “Open Russia”, accused under article about undesirable activities in the Russian Federation), and Yury Dmitriev (the head of the Karelian branch of “Memorial”, accused of child pornography).
