the German economy Ministry is monitoring the situation with the recently introduced sanctions against the Russian gas pipeline “Nord stream-2”.
At the same time, as the Agency RIA “Novosti”, the Ministry rejected any extraterritorial limitations that can be imposed against the project.
Earlier, newspaper Handelsblatt reported that Washington could impose new sanctions against the project if the Russian side will finish the construction of the pipeline.
At the same time the new restrictive measures can be taken in February or March, their goal can become investors or companies that will take Russian gas from the pipeline.
“Our position on extraterritorial sanctions is clear: we reject them. We follow the development of the situation in the United States. We do not comment on it”, — noted in the Ministry of economy of Germany.
Earlier it was reported that the U.S. Congress can pass new sanctions in respect of project “Nord stream-2” in case if Russia will try to build the remaining miles of pipeline.
