Chairman of the Executive Committee — CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev during the press-conference in Minsk said that “the mission of CIS observers found no evidence that cast doubt on the legitimacy of the elections in Belarus.”

According to TASS, Mr. Lebedev said that the elections “were held in accordance with the law, was open and competitive and ensured the will of the citizens”.

Earlier, the CEC head Lidia Yermoshina said that the Belarusian incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko, according to preliminary results, gaining the election of the head of state 80,23% of the vote.

Also, the CEC announced that the total voter turnout for the elections of the President of the Republic made up of 84.05%.
