The capital of South Ossetia returned the name of Staliniri

the Capital of South Ossetia Tskhinvali in the days of festive events dedicated to memorable dates of the great Patriotic war, will be the old name of Staliniri. The corresponding decree was signed by the head of the Republic Anatoly Bibilov.

As noted in the text of the document published on the website of the President, both names will be used “along” with each other “at the Republican and city events dedicated to memorable dates in the history of the Republic of South Ossetia and Tskhinval”. In particular, indicated on 9 may and 22 June – Victory Day and the start date of the war.

At the same time, the ministries and agencies should promote the historical name of the capital and even to organize with the objective of the information campaign.

it is Known that Stalinism Tskhinvali was called from 1934 to 1961. Then until 1991 it was called Tskhinvali, and then again Tskhinvali.
