The border police of Bosnia and Herzegovina denied entry to Russian military doctors to assist in the fight against coronavirus.

The Russian foreign Ministry reported that in late April, Moscow has been requested to carry out the disinfection and a number of consultancy activities in the University clinical hospital of Mostar.

After reviewing a request, Russia agreed to send to Bosnia and Herzegovina a contingent of military medical specialists of the Russian defense Ministry with the necessary equipment.

“unfortunately, implementation of these plans was prevented or unavailability, or lack of coordination between the Bosnian-Herzegovinian authorities: Russian military medics were not issued the necessary permits. As a result, residents of BiH were left without much-needed help,” reads a statement on the Russian MFA website.

In Russian depodesta expressed regret in connection with the decision of the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina and recalled that in the fight against coronavirus “there’s no place for dirty geopolitical games.”

“it has in practice demonstrated its commitment to joint efforts, remains committed to this principled position in the face of another dangerous infectious threats,” said the Ministry.

As reported by “the Rambler”, on may 15 the Minister of defence of the Russian Federation Sergey Shoigu reported to President Vladimir Putin that Russian military experts have completed activities to combat coronavirus in Serbia, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
