The Bank of Russia: phone scammers have switched over to the economically active Russians

Deputy Director of the Department of the Bank of Russia on information security Artem Sychev said that the phone scammers have switched from pensioners on the Russians at the age from 28 to 55 years. Such people are economically active, willing to spend money, not thinking about the consequences. In addition, they are too trusting of technology, TASS reports.

“Average”, which are telephone scammers from their victims, makes 10 – 15 thousand rubles, said Sychev. And in 2019 this figure is higher than in 2018. This is due to the fact that fraud has increased, but also that improved methods for their detection.
