Even the most tragic story may have a touch of something that didn’t make it completely meaningless. It is six-year-old Felix’s horrible death an example of.

the small boy’s unfortunate fate now gives hope that more parents in the future can get help when grief is greatest.

Thanks to a Facebook-lookups with a call from the deceased boy’s parents have a borgerforslag on sorgorlov to parents who lose their child (0-18 years), now achieved the required 50.000 signatures, which makes that the proposal can be put forward as motions in the Parliament.

A majority of folketingspolitikerne have earlier in the year expressed the political will to look at the possibility that also the parents of children who die after the age of seven months, should have the right to sorgorlov.

Felix’s story has now pushed to the right, closer to being a reality.

the Lookup with the parents ‘ call, which suddenly boosted the borgerforslaget, was posted by Sabina Kjemtrup.

She has a son who has gone to kindergarten with Felix, and she knows peripherally his family.

But since she has many followers on social media due to his blog about his son, who lives with hjerneskaden hydrocephalus, she was of Felix’ parents are asked to give their call on its platform.

It has worked.

In less than a day has about 20,000 written on the proposal, initially tabled in december 2019. The proposal has at the time of writing 58.428 signatures.

“I think it is great that so many danes also believes that the current law has some deficiencies and therefore will put their signature, so we can get the Parliament to look at this,” says Sabina Kjemtrup and continues:

“But otherwise I’m just happy to be able to give it the final push. This does not help Felix’s family, but if it can be of help to others in the long term, it would be great. A tragic death like this can hit us all.”

Felix lost their lives 19. march, during a picnic in the Fussingø west of Randers.

He had climbed up on a brændestabel in the forest, when the accident occurred.

The heavy strains put in motion and hit the boy. One parent was present.

“This is what we call a really tragic accident. It is not anyone’s fault, it’s not because of stupidity, either intentionally or illegally. It is mere accident that it happens. The boy got the logs over and died,” said vagtchef, police commissioner Jens Rønberg, east Jutland Police, to Randers Amtsavis.

B. T. have through Sabina Kjemtrup been the law of Felix’s parents to bring the image of the six-year-old in his Superman costume.
