Health care has priority to mundbind, and therefore delayed project of 180,000 mundbind.

A much discussed research project on the efficacy of the use of mundbind in the public space have been deferred to the week after easter.

It discloses one of the scientists behind the project, professor and chief physician at copenhagen university hospital Henning Bundgaard.

– We have come to find that we are pushing the project a little to be 100 percent sure that there is mundbind enough for the staff, which stands in the front line and working with the infected and possible infected, he says.

There is not an acute shortage. But the dragging is done according to the professor to go with both belt and braces and prevent it from happening.

worldwide there is a struggle for all forms of protective equipment. Therefore, we say from an operational angle, that we need to ensure that there is sufficient mundbind, if the pressure in Denmark were to increase, says Henning Bundgaard.

New supplies of mundbind is on the way, so from the middle of next week – a week later, a computed – expected project initiated.

the Project involves 180.000 mundbind and 6000 danes.

the idea is to document whether the mundbind can protect against coronavirus.

the Effect is disputed.

Recently have us authorities been out and recommend the citizens to use mundbind, for example, when shopping in supermarkets.

the world health Organization (WHO) has announced that it has set up an expert group to follow the area with a view on the new guidelines.

The Danish health authorities don’t look at the present time, there is reason to use mundbind in the public space.

– There is no reason to use mundbind, since there is nothing to suggest that the use of mundbind in healthy, moving around in society in general, has an effect on the spread of infection, writes the Danish Health and medicines authority on the website.

the Research project, which is supported by five million dollars from Salling Funds, must once and for all prove whether there is an effect.

– In Asia, people have gone with mundbind in many years. But it has never been proven whether it has an effect.

– It is what we are trying to do, says Henning Bundgaard.

3000 danes have so far signed up, but the hope is to reach up to 6000 persons.

one half of the subjects must wear mundbind, when they move outside of their home.

the other half do not. They should live as normal.

By measuring antibodies in the blood and swab samples from the throat and nose, researchers can then see whether the group using mundbind, have been less sick than the group without mundbind.

the Result of the project is expected to clear in the end of may.
