The press service added that the veteran thanked the participants and said that it would be hard to hold back emotions.

Victor Isaevich Metricin born August 20, 1926. His native village was occupied since the first days of the war. At age 16 he joined the partisans, and in 1942 volunteered for the Soviet Army. Father Metrikine fought brother died of starvation and his mother and sister were shot by the Nazis. Metricin participated in the battles in the composition of the 353 regiment of the 4th Shock army. In 1943 he received a severe wound in the fighting on the border with Latvia, in 1944, the wound was discharged from the army. After demobilization he came to Samara, where his father was. Metricin awarded two medals “For courage”, order of the Patriotic war of 2 degrees, and over 15 medals.
