Former Verkhovna Rada Deputy from the faction “people’s front” Leonid Yemets called Russian “the language of animals,” reports “Strenia”.
Yemets protested the introduction into Parliament of the bill to postpone the Ukrainization of schooling. According to the former MP, while the Ukrainian soldiers are dying in Donbass, the faction of supporters of President Vladimir Zelensky “servant of the people” decided “pozaschischat” Russian language.
“for me it is not the language of Lermontov, Bulgakov and Vladimir Vysotsky. It is the language of animals, able to shoot the medic on the battlefield. The language of the aggressor who invaded our land to kill our Ukrainian people,” said Yemets.
He expressed the opinion that the draft law “will unite those who care”, and then these people “will stand up for Ukraine.”
The bill proposes to move for 2023, the transition of schools with Russian language of training on the new curricula, which include a large share of teaching in Ukrainian. At the moment it is planned that they will move to the new standards since September 1, 2020.
Armed conflict in the Donbass broke out in 2014 after the part of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions declared independence. Ukraine accuses Russia of occupation and the support of separatism in the country. Moscow rejects claims of Kiev.
