Incubator with quail eggs for the study of embryo development it is planned to bring to the International space station next year, said in an interview with RIA Novosti Deputy Director for science of the Institute of biomedical problems of RAS Vladimir Sychev.

"Equipment for study of embryogenesis created. It includes a centrifuge, that is, the eggs will be exhibited both in artificial gravity and zero gravity," he said.

According to the scientist, last year there were a lot of questions about how to solve the problem of fixing the eggs in space.

"Since this is supposed to use formaldehyde, the equipment must be completely safe for the astronauts," he said.

Sychev said the incubator with eggs scheduled to deliver to the station in 2021.

"According to the plans of the equipment was to fly to the ISS this year, but now delayed for next year, because tied to the launch of a new Russian module "Science", – he explained.

Earlier in "Roskosmos" said RIA Novosti that the launch module "Science" is scheduled for the second quarter of 2021.

Experiments with quails have already been conducted in space, on the ISS yet. In 1979, the spacecraft "Bion" into orbit for the first time sent quail eggs. In the 90-ies on the space station "Peace" astronauts have conducted experiments with quail eggs and by the Chicks and adult birds. So, in 1990, in orbit hatched first prepeleac, and in 1999 born in space of these managed to return alive to Earth.
