Due to the war of aggression in Ukraine, some units of the Russian army have been severely weakened. Instead of mobilizing soldiers in their own country, the Russian troops are fishing for able-bodied Ukrainians in the occupied territories.

In order to be able to mobilize more soldiers, the Russian authorities in the occupied territories in Ukraine are tightening up the practice of conscripting Ukrainians. This was stated by the spokesman for the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Oleksandr Motuzyanyk, to whom the ” Institute for the Study of War ” refers.

In particular, the 2nd Army Corps, i.e. the armed forces of the so-called “Luhansk People’s Republic”, should be strengthened again in terms of personnel. In the protracted battles for the cities of Sievjerodonetsk and Lyssychansk, the unit had suffered heavy losses, which are now to be compensated.

The Ukrainian Resistance Center also said that the Russian authorities in the southern Ukrainian city of Berdyansk, which was occupied by Russia in the spring, are making concrete preparations for drafting conscripts. In this context, caretakers should submit lists of residents of military age. This practice probably marks the beginning of Russia’s new mobilization strategy, which is intended to expand its own combat capability in the war without having to conscript Russian citizens.

Motuzyanyk predicts that Moscow will probably continue to create conditions for the drafting of Ukrainian conscripts in the occupied territories.

After the tragic train accident near Garmisch-Partenkirchen, it is suspected that technical defects led to the incident with five deaths. As early as 2019, railway employees are said to have pointed out safety risks in the route network in a fire letter. But there was a lack of money and personnel for repairs.

There is now a shark alarm in Turkey too. A video shows a predatory fish swimming towards bathers on a beach near Marmaris. Two fatal shark attacks had previously occurred in the Egyptian holiday resort of Hurghada within a short period of time.
