Russia has restricted the procurement of imported cucumbers and tomatoes

According to the document, imported cucumbers and tomatoes were added to the list of products for which access to public procurement are prohibited if they involve at least two suppliers of the same products from Russia and the countries of the EEU.

Now in this list already contains products such as fish products, salt, beef, pork, cheese, butter, milk, rice, sugar and wine.

Recall the other day the fruit and vegetable Union of Russia appealed to the Ministry of agriculture with a request to introduce a temporary prohibition of import of tomatoes. 40% of domestic market demand is now filled by imported products. If prohibit transfers from abroad at least two months, this will allow Russian producers to avoid losses due to extended isolation and the weakening of the ruble.
