Moscow asked Georgia to abandon its provocative actions on the border. This is stated in comments published on the Russian MFA website.
we Urge the Georgian authorities to put an end to the provocative actions and statements, using all available formats in the dialog with Russia, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, — said on Smolensk square.
Diplomats explain that under these formats means, including “regional Mechanisms to prevent and respond to incidents, the Geneva discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia and informal negotiation channel "Grigory Karasin – Zurab Abashidze"”.
In addition, in Moscow expressed hope for “a more vigorous advocacy of the Georgian authorities with its own population, in order to prevent new cases of illegal crossing of the border.”
