Rosneft intends in the next five years to increase investment in environmental projects from the current 250 billion rubles to 300 billion rubles Over the past five years, more than 50% of “green” investments into the projects on utilization of associated petroleum gas (APG), “Rosneft” invested in these projects is 125 billion rubles.

“Rosneft” will take measures that will prevent the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere by 8 million tonnes by 2022, according to the company.

In 2019, oil refinery “Rosneft” has reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 11%, in 2018 the emissions of ethane decreased by 46%.

By 2022, the company intends to produce over 100 billion cubic meters of gas per year, the rate of APG flaring will be reduced to less than 5% by 2022.

“In January 2020, “Rosneft” has entered into number of leaders among global oil and gas companies involved in international climate rating and CDP showed the best result among Russian oil and gas companies. According to the results of the independent evaluation of “Rosneft” has a rating of “b” category — the highest among Russian oil and gas companies and two levels above the average rating of the European companies participating,” concludes Rosneft.
