"Roskosmos" received from NASA Memorandum of participation in the creation of an international lunar station Gateway, but have not yet decided on the format of its participation in the project, told RIA Novosti press-service of the Corporation.
"the Russian space Agency has received from NASA a draft Memorandum on participation in the lunar Gateway station. According to American colleagues, the document has been coordinated with the US state Department. The Corporation is preparing a position on the project where they will formulate the terms and format of the Russian participation in the Gateway program," said, "Roskosmos".
"After the formation of a consolidated position on participation in the program, the Federal space Agency will be ready to begin detailed consultation with NASA", – added in the Corporation.
The Director of NASA, Jim Breidenstein 26 may reported that NASA has made a number of proposals on cooperation with Russia in the project of a lunar Gateway station and waits for a response.
Earlier it was reported that in 2017, "Roskosmos" and NASA even signed an agreement on joint establishment of a lunar station, but later the General Director of "Roskosmos" Dmitry Rogozin said that Russia can not afford to participate in this project, as she plays enough big role. In December 2019 Rogozin said that Moscow made the decision to return to negotiations about participation in this project.
