– Well, like a steamer. Steamer. Steam boat – corrects Paul.

he’s being Modest absolutely nothing. Own hands from scratch to assemble a working steam boiler – so, you know, to be proud of. In this case, Paul was helping a friend and supporter Sergei Terekhov. Together cut, bent, boiled, thin on the detail, reworked, and perfected. All by yourself. They say to consult was not with anyone in Russia no more such oddities are not involved.

Lucky old peeling boat is quiet dognivaniya in the backyard she had a second life. Yes, still is! Painted, ennobled, installed a steam engine – it was a real steamer. Works even on fuel briquettes, at least at the corner, but better on small pine chulochkah. They are burnt almost without a trace, and the smell give you a good and cozy.

the construction of the steamer in total left year. Initially the working name of the ship had a “Ruff.” But then I changed my mind, called “Sablino” – in honor of the area where Paul lives.

– the Steam engine – he does not go to any comparison with any other. Even the much-vaunted electric cars need electricity, expensive and destructive to the environment batteries. When compared to conventional internal combustion engine, when the same volume of fuel combusted exhaust steam machine contains several times less harmful substances. And on the wood and does – consider at the campfire sat. Steam car cleaner, heartier, Paul remains as focused, but in the eyes shimmering tenderness. – What can I say, she’s alive…

the Ship willingly confirms the words of its Creator. Sergei cooks “Sablino” for the first test: fill the pot with water, throws in the furnace of firewood and the boat is commenting on your language. Hissing, puffing, Phuket, sighs, outraged and finally rhythmically knocks – all ready moving on to the path.

in fact, a steam boiler is most similar to a big samovar: pipe, furnace, tank of boiling water. But this “samovar” the boat goes very cheerfully, not worse, than banal motorboat. Only manage to throw carocci. By the way, buckets of firewood lasts about hour.

the First launch can be considered successful. The steamer passed a few tens of kilometers along the river Tosna, releasing the smoke and from time to time giving a wonderful long-drawn whistle. Scare ducks, distracted fishermen and drew crowds of rural boys who ran after him along the shore, until enough forces – a sort of miracle, revived the picture of “Tom Sawyer.”

And on August 8 the “Sablino” was a benefit – he became the head of SAP-festival in the center of St. Petersburg. For the first time in many decades the Fontanka canal and Griboyedov was a small, but proud ship. The creators of the happiness in the world.

– to be honest, I don’t understand why all people do not build ships locomotives? – genuinely surprised Paul. – No, really! It’s not so difficult – well, not exactly more complicated than bodies. And so interesting!..

Engineer Pavel Chilin always wanted a son. And on a private railway. In March 2008, he took his wife to the hospital, and came back and laid on his land at the house the first meters of the railway.

the Son of Valentin and the narrow-gauge railroad grew up together. Rails, sleepers, arrows, cars for the boy it is the same thing as the chickens in the garden for its rural peers.

In the year Valentin had learned to translate arrow rail in the three helped dad tighten the screws to the sleepers, four were controlled with the first wagons and then he heard from his father: “in five years, son, I’ll build you a locomotive.”

– Oh, how I dreamed about it! But they had to wait. The steam engine is complicated. When I was eight, my dad just built a frame and started hydraulic testing of the steam boiler, – remembers Valentine. And so I was not bored waiting for the train, built a hand car and a motor.

Meanwhile, grew and developed itself narrow-gauge railway. Now it starts from home and goes around the area in a wide arc, past the trees, through the bushes of gooseberries and raspberries, over rivers and ravines. Ten arrows, three bridges and even depot.

Last fall, Pavel Chilin sang this son of promise. Built the locomotive on the model of the locomotive of the early twentieth century. It’s beautiful: krutorogy, serious, appealing in its authenticity. Despite a height of only half a meter, this is not a toy – locomotive Celina can easily carry loads weighing up to twenty tons. In a country house, where there’s always something being built, he often is working. By the way, this might be the first Russian steam locomotive for the last 64 years, after all, domestic steam locomotive officially ceased in 1956.

it would be Logical to assume that Valentine among his classmates has a reputation for cool – who else has a private railway. But no. For the Wali is so natural that to brag once in a head did not come. The school found out about it only a year ago, when the house Ilinykh frequent reporters.

Now Val and then displays the composition of home depot and sits in the cab of the locomotive to ride on the circle of friends, friends, distant relatives and even strangers, onlookers, we stopped specifically to look at the narrow gauge railway craftsmen of Ulyanovka. Father did not object. He looks at his son and recalls how many years ago a boy fell in love with the narrow gauge railway after seeing it in some Lithuanian halt. Little engine that could, tiny trailers, the driver who is on the move jumped out of the cab and busily translated the arrow… that day was born the dream of Paul about his own railroad. And now his son confidently roll the engine past the house, and then jumping to move the hands withSEM like the train driver from my childhood. All came to pass.

Now Valentina and the railroad for twelve years. The boy grew up to 160 centimeters. Narrow-gauge railway up to 350 meters.

– And we will continue to grow and more beautiful, – laughs Val. Recently we found in the scrap metal four old railway lantern, in the nearest plans – to mend and to put on birch stumps. And in the future we are planning to increase the road twice. To do this, however, it is necessary to drain the swamp, but we can do it!
