The Verkhovna Rada registered a draft law on the abolition of the ban on the use of St. George ribbons in Ukraine, news agencies reported.

The bill was proposed by MP from the party “Opposition platform For life,” Nestor Shufrych, reports TASS.

He proposes to recognize the law “On amendments to the Code of Ukraine on administrative offences regarding the prohibition of production and promotion of St. George (guards) ribbon”.

Recently in Ukraine have brought the case to the pensioner, who was arrested when he was putting up leaflets for Victory Day. He had taken about 20 postcards with the image of St. George ribbon.

From 2015 the law of Ukraine “about the condemnation of the Communist and Nazi regimes” prohibiting propaganda of Soviet symbols.
