Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held a telephone conversation, discussing, in particular, regional topics, the conversation was initiated by the Azerbaijani side reported in the press-service of the Kremlin.

"exchanged opinions on regional issues in the context of having taken place in July this year, the escalation of the situation on Azerbaijani-Armenian state border. The Russian side stressed the importance of avoiding any actions that contribute to escalation of tension", – noted in the message.

During the conversation, the Azerbaijani leader also congratulated the head of the Russian Federation with the registration of vaccines against coronavirus infection.
