Putin signed the law on simplification of obtaining citizenship

MOSCOW, 24 APR — RIA Novosti. Vladimir Putin signed Federal law on simplification of obtaining Russian citizenship. The corresponding document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

This applies to foreigners and stateless persons permanently residing in Russia. Now, in order to become a Russian citizen, not necessarily to renounce citizenship of another state.

Also for people born in USSR and lived in its former republics, but have not received their citizenship removed the requirement for mandatory three-year residence in Russia before the filing and confirmation of a legitimate source of income.

the same rule will apply to foreign spouses of Russian citizens living in Russia and having children, and foreigners who have one of the parents has Russian citizenship and lives in Russia.

the Citizens of Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan, which have a residence permit in Russia will be able to apply for citizenship without observing the period of residence in the country.

For graduates of Russian universities the term of labor activity is reduced to a year.
