Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law of creation one of the Federal register, contains information about the population of the country, which will keep track of all the important stages of life of citizens from birth to death.
the operator of the register will be the Federal tax service. Information base must earn in Russia from 1 January 2023.
the Initiator of the registry was made by the Russian government, the bill introduced in the state Duma in the summer of 2019 and adopted in the first reading in September. He caused a wide public debate. It was felt that the establishment of a unified register is fraught with leaks of personal data of Russian citizens.
In the state Duma explained that the register will have no medical and biometric data, descriptions of personality traits. But the opposition MPs were not convinced. Deputy speaker of the state Duma from the LDPR faction Igor Lebedev said that to keep the database in one place is risky and they will cause an increased interest of any intruders. Deputy head of the faction “Fair Russia” Oleg Nilov proposed before starting to test the registry, entering only the information about the officials and deputies.
