Created after the Second world war, the system of prevention of major conflicts should be preserved and improved, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"It is our duty to all who took the political responsibility and primarily the representatives of the powers victorious in the Second world war to ensure that the system is preserved and improved," he wrote in an article for the publication National Interest, published on Thursday.

According to the President of the Russian Federation, created the system of international relations is one of the major outcomes of the Second world war.

"Today the world is undergoing quite a turbulent period. Changing everything from the global balance of power and influence to social, economic and technological bases of societies, countries and even continents. In the past era shifts of this magnitude almost never happen without a large-scale military conflicts", – writes Putin.

However, "thanks to the wisdom and farsightedness of political figures allied forces" was a system that restricted such extreme actions, said the Russian President.

In his opinion, the upcoming meeting of leaders of "nuclear powers" will demonstrate political will and to discuss the future, as in 1945.
