The deterioration of relations between Moscow and Kiev is not associated with the annexation of Crimea to Russia. This was stated by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin in the program "Moscow. The Kremlin. Putin" on channel "Russia-1".

"the Fact that we have relations with Ukraine, with the Crimea, in principle, not connected," he said.

Putin expressed confidence that "this foam (negative in relations between the two countries – approx. TASS) sooner or later subside".

The President recalled the chronology of events in Ukraine in late 2013 and in 2014. "First there was a coup and seize power, and from that moment our views and ways with the leadership of Ukraine were diametrically opposed, and we parted. But only after that Crimea returned to Russia, and not Vice versa", – said the head of state.
