The theft of Russian gas will lead to the end of transit through the territory of Ukraine. Alexey Pushkov, chairman of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy and interaction with the Media, said this in his Telegram channel.

The Russian senator commented on the statement of the ex-head of Naftogaz, Andrei Kobolev, who admitted: if Naftogaz cannot provide sufficient fuel imports, then Kiev will have to steal Russian gas from the transit pipe.

Pushkov called these words “an interesting forecast.” The senator stressed that such actions by Kiev will lead to the termination of the contract with Russia and the end of Ukrainian transit.

Earlier, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander Pankin said that the Russian side is not obliged to supply all gas to Europe through Ukraine. According to him, contracts for transit through Ukraine are being fulfilled. “Even with an excess of 8-10 percent,” the diplomat noted. However, this is not the only pipeline, and Russia is not obliged to use only it.
